GSE’s own Gary Wright from the GSE/SnowMasters Snow Factory is currently working at Busch Gardens in Tampa, Florida, prepping for their 2012 Mega Christmas Spectacular. Flogos, India
Here is some Global Special Effects news that fell by the wayside that we decided to go ahead and get out there:
In sort of late news, DirecTV released a massive ad campaign this winter featuring our SnowMasters icicles, Faux Snow™ (www.faux-snow.com) and T-1500 Evaporative Snow™ machines.
In other news, we recently attended the largest electronic music festival in Asia! Flogos, India was in attendance, as you can see by the photo, and good times were had by all.
Francisco Guerra with Chinese Governor
Global Special Effects has recently confirmed plans to open an additional visual special effects manufacturing facility and start producing GSE products out of a major city in southern China. Pictured in the photo are Global Special Effects president and founder, Francisco Guerra, and the governor of the city. Guerra is currently serving as the Ambassador of Theater Technology to China, and served as the Civil Aviation Ambassador from 2004 through 2006 (see related articles).
The recent GSE deal with China will greatly reduce costs of exporting heavy special effects equipment overseas, though the United States, Canada, Mexico, South America, and possibly other countries closer to the U.S. than China will continue to receive most of their products from our stateside manufacturing facility located in Lexington, Alabama.

Not to be outdone, The Home Shopping Network decided to pickup our Amazing Snowman, Magic Lamp, and Faux Snow, for their Christmas In July special. Currently, both the Magic Lamp and Faux Snow are available for purchase on our website (and Faux Snow has its own website as well). The new and improved Amazing Snowman can be seen on our website and will be available for purchase shortly.
deadmau5's 2012 Grammy Performance
Last night at The Grammy Awards, Global Special Effects products were literally everywhere! We used a total of ten, count them, ten Eco-Scent ES-1100 Scent Machines to fill the auditorium with pleasant aromas. In addition to the CO2 jets seen in Nicki Minaj‘s “Roman Holiday” performance (which we won’t mention, because some of us found it a bit “out there” to say the least), our FogMasters Cryo-Jets were also seen in the awesome techno-hip-hop dance collaboration by David Guetta, Chris Brown, Lil’ Wayne, The Foo Fighters, and the amazing, one and only deadmau5 (pictured). Big news! CSI: Miami will be airing episodes this season featuring our Cryo-Jets, as well as our patented Faux Snow™. In other news: we have something HUGE in the works right now. Actually, it’s already a done deal, but we can’t talk about it, in order that it doesn’t become an undone deal. That’s all we’re saying…that it’s absolutely enormous, and it’s quite possibly the biggest thing we’ve ever done before. That’s actually saying a lot, because you know how we do… Long live GSE!
Drink Safe Coasters
Global Special Effects is proud to announce that GSE president, Francisco Guerra, and GSE chief science officer, Brian Glover, have recently been submitted as candidates for the Nobel Peace Prize for their work in the prevention of violent sex crimes. Their previous work and research has proven successful in the creation of the company, Drink Safe Technology, which produces coasters that act as personal test kits for the presence of date rape drugs in alcoholic beverages.

Did you get a chance to see them? Example of a Drink Safe Anti-Date-Rape Coaster
Drink Safe Technology, one of the many companies owned by Global Special Effects president and founder, Francisco Guerra, is in the media again. Drink Safe Tech produces coasters that can easily test for the presence of date rape drugs in any beverage. The coasters are becoming extremely popular in clubs and bars — especially those located near college campuses such as The University of South Alabama:
MOBILE, Alabama – University of South Alabama Police Chief Zeke Aull is warning women students about date-rape drugs and arming them with cardboard coasters that can detect such substances in a drink.
“We’re just trying to be proactive,” said the chief, adding that there has been no date rape reported on campus.
“We’re trying to create awareness.”
He handed out detection coasters on Thursday, explaining to students that they could test a drink by putting a drop of the liquid onto two spots on the coaster. If either drop turns to a darker color, it’s a positive test.
The coasters are made by Drink Safe Technology in Lexington, Alabama. Francisco Guerra started the company more than seven years ago after a friend was raped while on a date.
